Middleweight World Championship

by Electra September 15, 2018

The most significant fight of 2018. Three fight undercard.

Moises entered the arena to mariachi music. Fuente’s face is messed up in round 2. Chocolotitto has been thru a lot personally. Chocos bread and butter punch is his uppercut. Round 5, choco right hand delivered a knockout! TKO from Nicaragua one punch knockout! Gonzalez -”Im very thankful for this opportunity. It’s a great comeback to beon the Canelo vs GGG card. I can’t wait because I am one step closer to becoming a world champion.

O sullivan..

David Lemieux first round knockout with a beautiful left hook. Boy was I wrong! David even mentioned that he doesn’t like trash talking, that he respects the sport, and not to piss him off!

Co-main event is coming up! Muniga turned pro at 16 and has an incredible record of 30-0 (25 ko’s)  He’s a huge monster middleweight. Brandon Cook out of Ontario Canada. Muniga is 3 inches taller. Brandon “bad boy” Cook. Crazy good first round dominant by Muniga. Muniga is dangerous.Round 3 Cook gets knocked down. Mungia “wildly violent” vicious body shots. Muniga remains undefeated WBO Middleweight Champion of the World.

Now we kill one hour before the main event.

Some of the news coming out of the evening is the hand wraps….Stacking is hand wrapping with gauze on top if the tape, it’s almost like a cast. Tape with gauze with tape with gauze! TrippleG’s camp was against Canelos wraps. Nevada’s boxing commision said it does not give him an advantage, and Canelo gets to keep his “stacked” wraps.

Canelo enters the arena with traditional Marriachi music to a roaring audience. Gennady Golovkin played White Stripes 7 Nation Army. After the grand entrances… The first round was Canelo being aggressive. Triple G has an answer for anything Canelo says in the ring. Canelo lands a great left in the second round. All big heavy shots in round 2. Canelo working triple G’s body. Sounds so very painful ringside. Canelo just super confident. Before you know it, its round 7. Round 9, body shots again from Canelo. Round 10, Golovkin just cannot get Canelo!!! Canelo will move, weave, whatever but you cannot get him! The crowd goes wild! Round 11 and 12, Canelo dominates. You could see Gennady breathing very hard, swollen and bruised. The fight went all 12 rounds. Canelo dominated the entire fight.  Both fighters suffered major lacerations that required stitches. The score card read 112 Canelo, 116 GGG. Canelo Alvarez def. Gennady Golovkin via majority decision. Its one thing to watch the fight on television, but being there in person is intense. To see the bruises and swelling on these fighters is surreal. The line of business these men are in is incredible. The fight club on any level is still about bringing the pain. That is what Canelo did saturday night. He hurt triple G.

As the post fight press conference came to an end , talk of a third match was mentioned. The quote of the evening comes from Abel Sanchez, Gennadys coach.  “We appreciate all of the support, but we cant be hypocritical and complain about every damn decision you recieve. Canelo fought a great fight tonight and you cant take that away from Canelo”

Canelo’s quote of the night “unfortunately we didn’t get the knockout” !  Unbelievable night of boxing!

SUPERFLY 3 at the Fabulous Forum

Last night 360 promotions brought Superfly 3 to the Fabulous Forum along with HBO Boxing After Dark.

Of course there was a lot leading up to this night.  The anticipation was building and the clock was ticking!

This morning as I have my coffee and toast, I keep thinking about what a fabulous night it was! The first fight must be incredible for these boxers. A huge stadium, kind of quiet, not really filled up yet, and nothing but press cameras and a lot of lights!

The first match of the night that really got the audience out of their seats & screaming was the female boxers! Louisa “Lulu” from Perth Australia had a bloodied face early on!  These women had combinations for days! What an exciting fight! After going  10 rounds, Brenda “Bonita” Flores  became the new WBC female Atomweight champion of the World!

The next match was Bruno Escalante (Philippines) vs Alexandru Marin (Romania).  Now if you saw Bruno shove Marin at the weigh ins, you’d know this fight was on!  After all the anticipation, the match was actually pretty boring until round 7. Undefeated Marin won by unanimous decision. Many would dispute this to say the least.

Now let’s just talk about Kazuto Ioka  from Osaka Japan vs McWilliams Arroyo from Puerto Rico. Now I’ve heard that Arroyo can take a beating, and this fight sure proved that. Kazuto had some body shots that you could practically feel from the sound of the punch landing to the guts! Kazuto knocked Arroyo down to the mat in round 3, never to get him down again thru all 10 rounds. Ioka Kazuto after a year in retirement comes back with the belt!!!! Congratulations to Kazuto Ioka the WBC SILVER FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION!!! It was also amazing to see Japanese fans in the audience !

Nietes & Palicte…the perfect time to go get a drink or snack up. WBO Super Flyweight World Championship. What a snoozer! The audience was chanting “beso beso” which means “kiss”! This co-main event went all 12 rounds.  The title remains vacant with a split decision draw! 116-112 Palicte- 118-120 Nietes.

The main event, 12 rounds going for the WBC Super Flyweight  title!   Felipe  Orucuta (Mexico)  vs Juan Francisco Estrada (Mexico). Estrada dominated the entire fight.  Estrada defeats Felipe Orucuta unanimous 128-110, 117-111. What a show these athletes put on!

Thank you to 360 Promotions, HBO boxing, the Forum, and all of these amazing boxers for an incredible entertaining night of good fun, & sportsmanship.
